holy shit, it's been a while

Hey, hey! Yeah! It's been a bit...

@shintsukimi205 how have you been, how have your writing endeavors flourished

I've been alright! Been doing my own thing outside NG,
My writing endeavors have definitely gotten better! I've stuck to short stories and back-to-backs this time around instead of a big BIG project--though the latter I've been interested in finally completing,

@shintsukimi205 that's great to hear, you could always collect your writing into one big projects with many tiny parts, might I also recommend getting a program called scriviner which has helped me a lot with organizing my writing, it IS paid and it does have a bit of a learning curve but it has really helped me with organizing all my smaller writing projects

An anthology you mean, right? Or do you mean connecting all those tiny parts together to integrate a story? Only seldomly have I tried the latter, if that's the case...

And, Scriviner? Noted. By "organizing", do you mean making sure everything is in one place, or does it function as a sort of "second opinion"--similarly to Grammarly?

@shintsukimi205 I was thinking about something like an anthology, the other option sounds like quite the task.

Srivener acts somewhat similar to a file explorer, a word processor, and a character sheet maker. you can store your stuff in chapter folders, within the page you can add note about the chapter or story, etc. It can also export projects to many formats which is almost the main reason why I got it lol

Anthology, anthology, got it! I was thinking of starting one these days; Though I'll prolly try and tweak my current writing style first before then--maybe figure out how to portray my ideas more effectively.

And, okay that's very interesting! Sounds much more reliable than Google Docs since I usually rely on that for chapters and such, haha. I'll see if I can afford it, cause if I ever had that? I'd prolly get attached,

@shintsukimi205 maybe even a collection of your writing as it is now could be good. even if you don't end up publishing it, I could be good practice for a bigger project down the line. gotta be careful with perfectionism too, wanting something to be perfect has caused me a lot of time personally

Google docs is OK I think but I found it a little restricting and the amount of garbage just kinda piled on, I'm not sure, maybe it's just personal preference

Writing as it is now...
You know, I was JUST thinking of uploading something I recently wrote into the BBS, so I might humor that idea (please tell me I got the acronym right it's really been a bit,) And I think perfectionism was what burnt me down, so I understand and was unfortunate enough to not figure that out sooner.

Google docs... IS, okay. It's just tedious to format it every now and then; Setting up the subtitles, titles, an unrelated paragraph of text indenting when you're trying to only indent one line, etc.

@shintsukimi205 yes, you got the acronym right lol, If you do end up uploading something, tag me in it, I want to see it...read it. but hey, y'know, you live and you learn, that's life, even if you get burned out here and there the important thing is to get back up and learn.

word is better when it come to formatting, but then again, a subscription model for software whose only update was UI changes, is a little hard to justify. Scriviner, does the formatting on export, which is fine, but learning how to do the formatting the exact way you want it does have a learning curve BUT you only have to really do it once

(Oh thank goodness); I'll make sure to!

And yeah, live and learn. That's that, and this is this, and hopefully I'll be able to rebound.

True on that though, yeah--though I suppose it makes more.. "bank", since it's more accessible. And by "once" you mean learn it once? Or format it once?

@shintsukimi205 I'm sure you'll be able to rebound, you go this!

when I say once and done I mean that when you make a project in scriviner, you have to export it to have it as a file like a PDF, to do this, when it's time to export, there are theses things called "templates" which you can make and edit and to export, you click on the template that you want and it does the formatting based on that template to the whole document, you can used these in different projects, so If you particularly like one you make, you can just keep using that one. It's also worth nothing that it comes pre-installed with some basic ones and you can totally use the default ones

Very, very interesting...
Duly noted!
